Reformers Unanimous Sees
Lasting Miracles
Reformers Unanimous (RU) had a high day of over 500 men and women on April 23, 2004. Workers started two other branches of the program within other areas of our First Baptist Church ministry. One is helping addicts at the Lake County Juvenile Home in Crown Point, and the other is helping those from the Chapel Ministry who are struggling to be free of their addictions.
Joe Tufano, alias “Pontiac Joe,” gave his testimony in the evening service at First Baptist Church recently. Joe, who had been addicted to drugs and spent several years in the Illinois State Prison at Pontiac for grand larceny and theft, attributes the work of God through RU for bringing his marriage and life back to Jesus.
Joe says, “I have three pastors: Bro. Tefft, who heads up RU; Bro. Schaap, who pastors our church; and Bro. Hyles! I’ve never met Bro. Hyles, but he’s my pastor too! I listen to his tapes and Bro. Schaap’s preaching every week!”
Another faithful member of our church has joined RU because of an addiction to overeating! This man has lost over 150 pounds and gives God the credit through the Word of God and the encouragement of RU. He says that he actually feels like he is getting his life back and avoiding an early grave!
