REFORMERS UNANIMOUS

HOME

    Emilio Nieto lived under the shadow of First Baptist Church. He was saved in 1974 and got involved in the bus ministry. Unfortunately, he left First Baptist Church after being rebuked by a leader. Leaving with hard feelings, he found himself living a life of drugs while roaming the streets of Chicago and playing his guitar for a living.

Jon Cuozzo and Emilio share a moment before the RU meeting.

    At a train station in Chicago, a man named George from Reformers Unanimous started inviting him to First Baptist Church. One night, Emilio fell on his knees and cried, “Lord, please help me!” He stayed clean from drugs for three weeks. George continued to invite him to church, and Emilio felt a tug on his heart to come back. He came back and joined Reformers Unanimous in 2003. He won the victory over drugs and is a valuable worker at RU.

      One day after being ridiculed for singing songs about the Lord, he wrote the words to the following song as a testimony of his life:

Lord, there are those who say You don’t exist;

You’re just a myth, a fairy tale,

And that the Saviour that You sent into the world,

To the Cross was never nailed.

For the fool hath said within his heart, There is no God; It’s all just a lie;

And the saving power of His precious blood, even this he denies.

But I believe! Lord, I believe.

Let them disagree; let them laugh at me. Still, Lord, I believe!

Lord, the Bible says that Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

But the wicked cries, Just a great big lie from a little black book of misread words

And fool they say I am to pray to a Saviour I cannot see.

And fool I be to think that he will one day come for me.

But I believe! Lord, I believe.

Let them disagree; let them laugh at me. Still, Lord, I believe!
